In 1991 the Claimant, as owner of a freehold farm in Caerphilly, was served a notice to treat under a compulsory purchase order (CPO) in respect of a strip of land being part of the farmland which the then relevant authority required in order to construct the A469 Lower Rhymney Valley Relief road.

The Claimant sued the Defendant, his former wife, in respect of statements she had made concerning him on
Facebook in December 2012, during a conversation she had with his then partner and further in an email to his then partner’s former boyfriend, in January 2013. -
Watson Farley and Williams (a firm) v Ostrovizky [2015]
The case reiterates the Court of Appeal’s approach when it is asked to look at findings of fact in professional negligence cases. The original proceedings in July 2011 were commenced for unpaid fees £25,000 (including interest) and the Defendant counterclaimed for £13m.
