New qualifying period for unfair dismissal:

It had been assumed that the new qualifying period for unfair dismissal would apply to all employees, however the Department for Business Innovation and Skills has now advised that in fact it will apply to all employees whose employment begins on or after the 06th April 2012. This means that if you are in employment on that date then you will retain the current one year qualifying period.
